Rally News No. 1 - June 2007

Mike Summerfield and George Kotek are working hard finalising details of the route. As you will appreciate an undertaking like this involves many hours of poring over the maps followed by even more time negotiating with the relevant authorities. Our local contacts have been exhausting themselves finding us the best stages available and we are now beginning to see the outline of a very special event.

Bearing in mind that we are 15 months away from the event and several months from the Route Survey we already have a fair bit to tell you. Be aware that things can, and do change, but we will give you an event to remember.  It may only be 20 days but this promises to be the toughest event we have ever put on.

We already have details of the planned stages for 8 of the 20 days and we are up to 750k already, with a couple of days with more than 125k of stages!!

How about this then - Stage 1 - The famous (or infamous!) Col de Turini, run to its longest length, around 40k and then run again!! 80k of the most exhilarating rally roads in the world on just the first day.  Want to wet your appetite? Take a look at

On day 2 we take in the incredible Monte Ceppo stage in the mountains behind San Remo. For us this is one of the classic stages in the world and, again we will run it twice. 4 stages altogether on this day.

We are still finalising the days through Italy but we already have some amazing stuff lined up for you, some of Italy's best rallying roads.

In Austria we have an extremely enthusiastic team putting together some great stages. More details to follow.

Four rallying days in the Czech Republic and Slovakia using roads from the European Championship Bohemia and Marum Rallies. No day less than 75k of stages and on one of the days something completely different!! For once you will be able to see everyone else compete; the Sosnova Super Special will be a bit of fun for everyone. It will count towards the results but we might just put up a special prize as well.

And then it’s into Poland and, after a day off in Warsaw, a change of surface. From now on it will be predominantly loose surface, including stages from Rally Poland and the old Thousand Lakes.

We will keep you up to date on progress as the route matures.

This is certainly one you will not want to miss. Great roads, super people and really serious rallying.
